Mueller@Home:
Home Inspections Without the Appointment

No one likes scheduling a home inspection. Finding a time that works, making sure someone is home and welcoming an inspector onto the property all add to your client’s already busy schedule. For Concorde HO3 policies written in our peteRATER+ or FireZone platforms, we’ve partnered with Mueller Reports to implement a virtual self-inspection that allows your client to complete the process themselves, right from their smartphone.
With Mueller@Home, completing a required homeowners inspection doesn't have to mean rearranging schedules or waiting on an inspectors. A few questions, a few photos and a little time with your smartphone are all it takes. And with step-by-step guidance throughout the process, your client will always know what to do next.

How Does Mueller@Home Work?
After a homeowners policy is issued, your client will receive a text message and email from Mueller@Home with a secure link to begin your virtual inspection. With this new process in place, it’s more important than ever to provide accurate policyholder contact information when writing business in Concorde’s peteRATER+ or FireZone platforms.
From there, the process is broken into simple, step-by-step instructions.
- Open the Mueller@Home Link
Tap the link provided in your text message or email to get started. There’s no need to schedule an appointment or wait for someone to arrive at your home.

- Review the Photo Tips
Before beginning, Mueller@Home provides a few helpful tips for taking the photos, including:
- Take photos in landscape orientation
- Make sure you have adequate lighting
- Take multiple photos when needed to capture all that is being asked for
- Answer a Few Questions About Your Home
Next, your client will be guided through questions about the home and property. These may include questions about the roof and exterior, animals on the property, supplemental heating, potential hazards or conditions, and other basic property information. Homeowners simply follow the prompts and select the answer that applies to the home.
- Take the Requested Photos
Mueller@Home tells you exactly which photos are needed and allows you to take and upload them directly from your phone. Homeowners may be asked for photos of areas such as:
- The front, back and sides of the home
- The roof (from ground level)
- The heating unit
- The electrical panel
- The water heater
- The plumbing fixtures under the kitchen sink
There’s no guessing about what you need to photograph—the system guides you through each step.
- Review and Submit
Once all of the questions have been answered and the requested photos uploaded, the homeowner will have an opportunity to review the information before submitting it. When everything is complete, simply select Finish and the virtual home inspection is submitted.
Why We Switched to a Virtual Home Inspection
For many homeowners Mueller@Home offers a more convenient alternative to a traditional inspection. When homeowners can complete the inspection on their own schedule, without having to coordinate an appointment or have an inspector come onto their property, it saves both time and stress. The virtual process also helps reduce inspection costs while still providing the information and photos needed to review each home.
And if your client needs a little help along the way, they don't have to figure it out on their own. The Mueller team is available to assist and can walk your client through the process if needed. Mueller’s reps will even call the agency if they have not gotten a response from your client so that you can follow up.
Don't Forget: Complete Inspections Within 30 Days
While Mueller@Home makes completing your inspection convenient, it is important to complete the requested inspection promptly. The virtual inspection must be completed within 30 days of the request. If the inspection is not completed within that timeframe, your homeowners policy will be cancelled.
We recommend giving your client a heads up that the inspection request is coming and asking them to complete it as soon as possible after receiving the Mueller@Home text message and email. As long as they have a smartphone handy and follow the on-screen instructions, the process will be quick and easy.
